He's a true custom cabinet shop. He handles everything from start to finish.
Cabinet material selection you can touch
You should never choose a cabinet material from a photo. At our showroom you hold rift white oak beside walnut, compare a hand-rubbed oil to a lacquer, and see how black iron pulls read against a painted Shaker door.
Your finish options are built in-house. That means custom finishes matched to your tile or your designer's paint deck, and luxury finishes cured in our workshop, not sprayed in your driveway.

The Peterson difference
Which wood type and finish suit your home?
Warm homes lean toward oak and walnut with natural oil finishes. Bright, transitional homes love painted hardwood species in crisp whites and deep greens. Modern spaces mix slab walnut with matte lacquer and integrated pulls. Your designer's vision decides, and our millwork delivers it.
Grain matters too. Rift-sawn white oak gives you a straight, quiet grain, while slab-matched walnut flows across doors as one continuous figure. We book-match and grain-match panels by hand.

Material considerations
- Wood species: rift white oak, walnut, maple, cherry and more.
- Stain colors: natural to ebony, sampled on your chosen species.
- Painted finishes: any color, sheens from matte to high gloss, plus glazing and distressing.
- Cabinet hardware: pulls, knobs and hinges in brass, bronze, nickel, black iron and more.
Finishing in our workshop
- Sealed and cured: multi-coat finishes cured in a controlled environment.
- Grain-matched: slab doors and drawer fronts matched across the run.
- Durable: finishes chosen for desert sun, kitchen steam and years of hands.

Rift-sawn white oak is cut so the grain runs straight and uniform, with far less of the cathedral figure of plain-sawn oak. It is the finest cut for your modern or transitional cabinetry.
