TLDR: Ryan Cave and Brian Campbell of Vegas Remodels LLC run luxury home remodels all over Las Vegas, and they send every cabinet package to my shop. In this article I walk you through their recorded testimonial and the four standards they hold every custom cabinet maker to: true in-house construction, local turnaround, honest materials, and a schedule you keep no matter what. Whether you hire us or someone else, these are the four questions worth asking.
Custom Cabinets Las Vegas: Peterson Cabinet Works is a true custom cabinet shop building fully assembled cabinets in its own Las Vegas workshop, which is why general contractors like Vegas Remodels LLC build their remodel schedules around the company.
The toughest customer I serve is another builder. Homeowners see the finished kitchen. A general contractor sees everything underneath it: the substrate, the joinery, the delivery date, and every corner a shop tried to cut.
So when Ryan and Brian from Vegas Remodels LLC sat down on camera to talk about working with us, I listened closely. When the video came back, I counted nine separate moments where they brought up scheduling, timelines, or delays. Nobody asked them about scheduling. For a working contractor, time is the whole game, and their words tell you what professionals measure when they judge custom cabinets.
Here are their four standards, the numbers behind each one, and what all of it means for your own Las Vegas remodel.
What A True Custom Cabinet Shop Handles From Start To Finish
The first standard is scope. A real custom cabinet maker owns the whole journey, from the first sketch to the final hinge adjustment. Here is how Ryan put it.
"He's a true custom cabinet shop. He handles everything from start to finish. He assists with the design aspect. He assists with problem solving. He helps us figure out in terms of cabinets, what will work, what won't work from a functionality perspective and just getting the best layout for the client specifically."
Notice what he named first. Not price. Not speed. Design and problem solving. Cabinet design is where a project succeeds or dies, because a layout mistake gets expensive the moment the boxes are built. My designers catch those mistakes on screen, where fixing them costs nothing. Space optimization belongs at the drawing stage, never in new casework after the fact.
The demand for this kind of depth keeps growing. The Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies projects homeowner remodeling spending to reach a record $524 billion in early 2026. More money is chasing skilled trades than ever, and the shops with real design ability get booked by professionals first. Ryan's summary of why they keep coming back still makes me smile.
"For us, it's actually a no-brainer to use Dave. Price point's good, communication's solid. The design aspect is phenomenal and the deliverables are excellent."
Details Are The Deliverable
Brian and Ryan circle one theme through the whole interview, and it happens to be the theme my team lives by.
"Dave, they obsess over the details and the details are what people are paying for and those matter. Dave and the team, they truly care about what they're providing."
You feel this standard every day you live with your cabinets. Reveals line up. Doors sit flush. Drawer fronts match grain across the whole run. Those details separate custom cabinetry from factory boxes wearing your paint color.

Local Custom Cabinets Versus Imported RTA Boxes
Now for the part of my industry nobody advertises. Plenty of companies selling "custom cabinets" in Las Vegas never build anything. They order ready-to-assemble product from out of state, screw it together, and sell it under a custom label. It frustrates me, and it clearly frustrates Ryan too.
"A lot of cabinet companies locally are actually sourcing their cabinets out of town and they're bringing them in. Or they're giving you what we would call like an RTA cabinet. They're bringing it in and then they're selling it to you as a custom cabinet. PCW is actually providing a truly homemade custom product that's made here in town."
Why should you care where the box gets built? One word: turnaround. Every remodel hits a moment when a part needs to be remade, resized, or replaced. With an imported cabinet, your kitchen waits on a freight schedule. With a workshop across town, it waits on me.
"We're not having to wait three to four weeks to see a part get shipped back in from across the country or from out of the country to get that product installed. Dave's able to turn it around within a week or so."
Run the math on your own project. A three-week wait on one damaged door pushes your countertop template, your plumber, and your move-in date. A local shop turns the same fix in days. The HomeAdvisor cabinet cost guide prices installed custom cabinetry at $500 to $1,200 per linear foot, against $100 to $300 for stock. At the custom level, the workshop behind the product is what you are paying for. Make sure one exists.
Here is my honest advice, and it applies even if you never call us. Ask any cabinet company to show you where your cabinets will be built. I have welcomed hundreds of clients onto our shop floor at Grier Drive, and I love watching their faces when they see their own kitchen taking shape in raw wood. A company with a real workshop will show it off. A company without one will change the subject.

Cabinet Materials Decide What Survives A Decade Of Use
The second thing contractors inspect is what hides behind the door panel. Brian names the corner most shops cut, and he is right.
"A lot of contractors or a lot of cabinet shops specifically will cut corners on the quality of the material themselves. They'll use particle board, MDF, and then veneer it. The problem with those types of materials is they don't have a good lasting shelf life."
Ask about wood types while you are at it. A builder fluent in hardwood species, plywood grades, and finish options will tell you exactly which cabinet material belongs in a sink base versus a pantry wall. Cheap substrate always fails at the worst points. Screws strip out of particle board. Moisture swells MDF under a sink. One overloaded shelf sags and never recovers.
Built right, cabinets outlive nearly everything else in your house. The National Association of Home Builders' Study of Life Expectancy of Home Components gives well-made kitchen cabinets up to 50 years of service, longer than any appliance they surround. That is the timescale I build for, and Brian noticed.
"They think about those types of details and they build it to last. So when Dave builds a product, he's thinking about not just how they're gonna use it, but how they possibly might use a certain different feature in the future."
What To Ask Your Cabinet Maker Before You Sign
- What is the box built from, plywood or particle board, and what thickness?
- Where is the cabinet physically assembled, and who does the finishing?
- How fast do you turn a replacement part if something arrives damaged?
- Who handles the design drawings, an in-house cabinet designer or a sales rep?
- Which cabinet hardware lines do you install, and what is the warranty on hinges and slides?

Scheduling Wins Remodels Before The First Cabinet Hangs
Cabinets sit in the middle of every home improvement timeline. Trades stack up before us and after us, and one late delivery ripples through all of it. Ryan frames the stakes better than I ever have.
"Cabinets are not usually the first thing to go in and they're definitely not the last thing to go in, right? There's always trades before them and there's definitely trades after them. From a scheduling perspective, we have to be able to lace them in perfectly so that the job doesn't see delays."
Then he tells a story I am genuinely proud of. In the middle of a major project for Vegas Remodels, we moved our entire workshop to a new facility. New floor, new machines, everything. Their job never felt it.
"He transitioned an entire shop from one facility to another and in that entire span of time, the project timeline never noticed it once, which to me is a complete testament to their ability to stay on time."
A cabinet shop relocating mid-project is the kind of event schedules die on. We planned the move around our commitments because a promised date is a promise, full stop. Your remodel gets the same discipline whether it is a powder room vanity or a whole estate.
I believe schedule reliability predicts cabinet quality better than any showroom sample, because both come from the same habit. A shop disciplined enough to hit every install date is disciplined enough to square every face frame. In all my years of woodworking I have never met a sloppy shop with a tight calendar, and I have never met a tight shop with sloppy reveals.

The Custom Cabinet Partner Behind Las Vegas Luxury Remodels
Everything above came from one recorded conversation with a contractor who answers to the valley's most demanding clients. Their conclusion is the one I want you to hear.
"The clients that have the ability to use both of us, it ends up going phenomenally, right? The expectations are blown through the roof."
My team designs, builds, and installs custom cabinet creations from our own workshop at 1181 Grier Drive in Las Vegas, from kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets to home bars, storage solutions, and architectural millwork. Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Cabinets In Las Vegas
How Do I Know If A Las Vegas Cabinet Company Builds Its Own Cabinets?
Ask to tour the workshop and watch your cabinets being built. Resellers show you a showroom and a catalog, while a true cabinet maker shows you saws, finishing booths, and your own project in production. We invite every client into our Grier Drive facility for exactly this reason.
What Is The Difference Between RTA Cabinets And Custom Cabinets?
RTA stands for ready-to-assemble: flat-packed boxes shipped from large factories and put together on site. Custom cabinets are designed for your exact space, built as complete units in a workshop, and finished before delivery. The gap shows up in fit, materials, and how fast replacement parts arrive.
Why Do General Contractors Prefer Local Cabinet Makers?
Speed and accountability. Vegas Remodels LLC reports replacement parts from our shop in about a week, against three to four weeks for shipped-in product. On a stacked construction schedule, those weeks decide whether the whole project lands on time.
How Much Do Custom Cabinets Cost Compared To Stock Cabinets?
National data from HomeAdvisor puts installed stock cabinets at $100 to $300 per linear foot and full custom work at $500 to $1,200. A typical 10 by 10 kitchen holds 20 to 25 linear feet of cabinetry. Custom pricing buys in-house design, better materials, and decades more service life.
Do Custom Cabinet Makers In Las Vegas Work Directly With My Contractor?
The good ones do. We collaborate with general contractors, interior designers, and architects every week, coordinating measurements and install dates around the other trades. That coordination is why contractors like Vegas Remodels build their schedules around our shop.
